THE WORLD IS CHANGING.
SO ARE WE.

At Edita Group, we are on a journey of change. We aim to develop ourselves and help our clients to do the same. As a people company, we recognize the importance of an organization’s culture. We have challenged established thinking and ways of working through people and technology since 1859. And our journey continues.

Edita Group

Edita Group helps its customers communicate more efficiently and provides them with reliable printed and digital information.

The Group consists of two business areas: Edita Prima specializes in customer communication services for companies and organizations. Edita Publishing produces learning materials, web services, books, and training services to support the work of teachers and lawyers.

Our story

The world
is changing.
So are we.

We live in a world of constant change. Finding smarter ways of working is in our DNA.

Our history dates all the way back to 1859, when Imperial Senate Printing Press was founded in Helsinki. The first assignment was to print 600 10-kopek stamps. In addition to stamps, tax forms, account books, legal regulations and, for example, the Finnish State bank notes were also printed.

In 1911, the State’s publishing office was established to publish legal regulations, and to sell, distribute, and store state-owned publications. This was the beginning of the publishing services that we still provide together with our  printing services.

Into the 20th century and for subsequent decades, we have changed and renewed ourselves time and time again. Today, our services in the 2020s are largely digital.

Our corporate culture

A SHARED
COMPANY CULTURE AS A STRENGTH

At Edita Group, we use various shared tools to support our daily work. These also strengthen our company culture and align our way of working. The importance of a unified culture is emphasized as our Group is constantly changing.

Our culture is manifested in our Guiding Principles for the behavior we strive to see more of in our everyday work life.

We all have an important role in this work. Our Guiding Principles and the things we value as individuals, are reflected in the way we work and communicate with clients, partners, stakeholders, and each other.

The work for creating these Guiding Principles has been a bottom-up process, involving everyone within the Group.

AAR

AAR is a structured debriefing process for reflecting on what happened, why it happened, and how it could be done differently. With this process, we support our employees’ learning, show trust, and encourage our people to boldly try something new.

  • What was the goal?
  • To what extent did we reach the goal?
  • What did we do well and why did it work well?
  • What can we improve and how do we change this?
  • Also: To what extent did we act according to our principles?

MITs

We want to ensure that all our employees have a shared understanding of out targets. Identifying your individual Most Important Tasks (MITs) ensures you keep moving towards the company’s overall targets.

WHAT?

Most Important Tasks (MITs) are tasks, activities, and actions to reach our set targets according to the action plan and strategy for the year. MITs are tools for the prioritization and communication of daily and/or weekly tasks. As a rule of thumb, your three most important tasks should be identified.

Why?

By taking the time to identify your MITs, you will reach your targets. Once the MITs have been articulated, it becomes easier to discuss and develop ideas together.

Impact on culture

Personal MITs strengthens accountability, efficiency, and self-leadership skills. MITs have a positive effect on the performance climate of the whole company.
