The internal reorganization of Edita Legal Information, part of Edita Group, is progressing, and the names of the companies concerned by the arrangement will change. Edita Legal Information’s commercial operations will be transferred to the new subsidiary, Edilex Lakitieto Oy, through an internal transaction. Going forward, Virallinen lehti will be published by a subsidiary called Virallinen lehti Kustannus Oy. The transaction will be completed on 1 November 2024, when the new company names will also be officially adopted. Following the reorganization, Edita Group will have four subsidiaries: Edita Prima Oy, Edita Oppiminen Oy, Edilex Lakitieto Oy and Virallinen lehti Kustannus Oy.
“The Edilex brand is very well-known among customers who buy legal information, so it was natural to choose it as the name of the company continuing the commercial business in legal information. Similarly, we wanted the company that publishes Virallinen lehti to have a name that directly indicates what the company does,” says Kristiina Kujala, CEO of Edita Group Oyj.
The aim of the reorganization is to clarify the development of the legal information business and increase its shareholder value. Another aim is to achieve even greater transparency in the commercial business of legal information. The publishing of Virallinen lehti, on the other hand, is governed by law and it is therefore not a commercial business.
The reorganization will not affect the employment relationships of the personnel; all employees will continue as old employees.
